DR. TATUM WILLIAMS, PSYD
My path to joining the psychology field was unique as I previously worked in the television and fashion industries in New York City for many years before pursing higher education. My interest in psychology grew from my work as a mentor and coordinator of a peer mentorship program that provides support for at-risk youth and their families. Since joining the psychology field, I have developed a strong interest in psychological testing with an appreciation for Therapeutic Assessment; behavioral medicine and the mind-body connection, specifically the role of the brain-gut axis and interventions related to nutritional psychiatry in improving mental health.
My clinical training has given me a broad range of experiences, working in school-based, community mental health and hospital settings providing both short and longer-term therapy, crisis work in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), rotations in neuropsychological testing and bariatric surgical evaluations as well as completing both my predoctoral internship and postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente Hospital & Medical Center in both San Francisco and Oakland California, where I was later hired on as full-time staff.
During my free time, I enjoy a good cup of coffee, watching HGTV and Law & Order, anything music related, and traveling whenever possible.
I was born and raised in The Bahamas but have studied abroad for many years and currently reside in the United States, which adds an additional layer of confidentially to our sessions.
